Workflow
Matter, spend, invoice, and RFQ visibility
Data role
Normalise scattered legal ops inputs
Control model
Reviewable data with leadership visibility
Scattered legal operations data became an operating view: current state, exceptions, spend pressure, and next actions visible in one place.
Project record
Business context
Legal leaders need to know which matters are active, where spend is going, whether invoices are clean, and how outside counsel options compare. Those answers were spread across spreadsheets, email, billing records, and informal updates.
Without one operating view, the data stayed a passive report rather than something leaders could act on.
System delivered
A workflow layer that brings matter and spend data into a structured operating model, runs checks over invoice and RFQ information, and produces comparison views for leadership decisions.
The system
The hard part
The inputs were the challenge: heterogeneous spreadsheets and records with no shared structure. Normalisation had to be reliable enough that leaders would trust the view over their own files.
Human controls
Automation structures the information; humans stay responsible for interpretation and decisions. Invoice hygiene issues and unclear data surface as exceptions for review rather than being buried.
